CIRCLE THE SQUARE...

Which gov't has twisted itself in a pretzel trying to avoid any responsibility -- starting with 'current transfer agreement is fine and you're a taliban-lover for asking', to 'there is no torture going on in afghanistan (and a recession is evolutionary implausible in these running shoes) and did I say sponsorship scandal?'; the Harper team then shifted slowly to 'we have a new transfer agreement, implemented because of some concerns that we will pretend don't exist', to now 'the people who advised of making the new transfer agreement and don't understand ixnay on the orture-tay are whacked but just dandy for our washington desk'... Bring on the public inquiry and maybe you can get Mackenzie King's seance tossed into the whole tangled mess. Perhaps Harper can try and bribe an ill witness to tie up this whole mess and be done with it...

Liberals attacking the troops while defending the Taliban again. You guys care about how suicide roadside bombers are treated but not a damn about our troops.

But Iggy endorsed torture, so why would he care?

Nice rovian detour but so far no one's buying it, CONbot. It isn't about the taliban nor torture, but about a government's actions or inactions regarding THE LAW. I know Harper holds the Canadian law in contempt, but there is something called international law, including the Geneva convention, that all signators are required to respect. And to have one of his own civil servants -- and I'm betting Colvin's just the first of many who'll realize that covering up for incompetent and immoral ministers/PM is not the best career move -- come out and reveal them for what they are must really sting, doesn't it? Whether this sinks Harper and his gang is neither here nor there, but this is the kind of thing that will in the end put him on the curb.
